Today's Tip: Bring Your Own Drink to a Fast Food
Nobody likes fast food. That being said, we all eat it from time to time. Whether you are
in a hurry to get from one place to the next, or you simply don't have time to enjoy a full
meal, you occasionally find yourself at a fast food restaurant from time to time. While the
food there is generally pretty cheap, there is another way to save some money from your
dining expenses: bringing your own drink.
When you look at the quick fact to the right, that's not rocket science. You probably could
have rattled that off yourself. But when you're out to lunch, do you "biggie size" or "super
size" or "value size" your combo? On average, "value sizing" your combo will only save
you between thirty and fifty cents compared to purchasing each item individually.
Think about it. When you're eating fast food, do you usually meet friends or co-workers
there? Most likely not. So why not just bring in your own bottle of water or can of soda?
I realize that this would be a pretty awkward predicament to put yourself in if you were
dining at say, the Cheesecake Factory, but fast food is definitely not the Cheesecake
Factory! So who really cares if you're bringing your own drink. I'll bet you that the
management team at the establishment won't say a word! After all, you are buying their
food in the first place.
So if you're looking for a quick way to save a buck, this is a good suggestion. If you
found a dollar on the ground today, would you pick it up? If so, then why overlook the
fact that you could be saving $1.50 each time you bring your own drink?
