Today's Tip:  Pay Attention at the Grocery Checkout

I love the express checkout line.  I almost always have under 20 items, so it's great to just
rush through the line and get back on with my day after going to the grocery store.  Even
better is the self-checkout where you can do all the cashiering yourself.  Ultimately, though,
there will be plenty of times where you spend about 45 minutes to an hour in the grocery
store, and not only will you have a grocery bill between $200 - $300, but you'll likely be
using the regular register.

In this scenario, are you in the habit of watching the monitor to ensure that prices of your
items ring up as expected?  Do you keep your ears tuned for the times that the scanner
accidentally rings up the same item twice?  Perhaps you are, and perhaps you aren't.  As
for me, I always am.  I'm the type of person that will buy a different brand if it is five cents
cheaper.  I drink a lot of Nestle Pure Life water.  But you can be darn sure that if
Arrowhead or Dasani is running a special, there goes my allegiance to Nestle!

Nobody likes being in a long line at the grocery.  But if you are, take advantage of it by
having all of your items lined up and out of your cart so you can pay attention to computer
ringing up your items.  Most stores will give you the item free if it is rung up incorrectly.
Nothing is worse than getting home and realizing that you got charged twice for only one
item.  At that point, it's pretty difficult to go back to the grocery store (for one, you don't
want to drive
all the way back) after the fact when it's pretty much impossible to confirm
that you were indeed double charged.
