Today's Tip: Don't Ignore Your Spending Habits When
Simply speaking, changing your budgeting habits is very similar to changing your
dietary habits. There is a reason that 88% of diets end in failure (source: Curves
Fitness Clubs for Women). If you want to be one of the 12% that succeed, be honest
with yourself. If you want to change, start with eliminating one meal at a time. After
you watch your budget gradually exceed your actual spending, then you can approach
the next month by lowering the budget. But eliminating the expense outright is the
equivalent of subscribing to one of those diets that say they will make you lose 50
pounds within a month. It's unhealthy, unrealistic, self-defeating, and demoralizing.
